Publish Your Own iPad Newsstand Magazine Affordably
Publish your magazine, choose to monetize your content and reach more readers with this iPad Newsstand Magazine Template
Monetize With In-App Subscriptions
Your magazine can have either a Paid or Free Recurring Subscription. You get to choose. The template will allow you set that up.
You can setup weekly, bi-weekly or monthly subscriptions (both Paid and Free) and the template will save these purchases and allow only subscribers to access your content.
All you have to do is setup your in-app purchases in iTunes connect and then copy your Product ID’s to the template’s configuration file and you are good to go.
Setup both Paid and Free options for Single Issues
After subscribing to your magazine, you may want to charge for individual issues of your magazine. This is perfectly fine.
Let’s say you have a scenario where you have a free subscription to your magazine and you want the users to pay for some of the issues and have some of the issues free, this is easily setup in the template. You can even have a paid subscription where most of your issues are free and then you can still charge for some premium issues, no problem at all.
All your issues can have a separate in-app purchase ID attached to them and your readers can download the free issues and pay for the ones that you have configured as paid issues.
Publish Both PDF and HTML Magazines
Your magazines may be in a PDF format, some others may be in the HTML format. We support both formats in this template. If you have a PDF file for each issue, all you have to do is upload it to a web server and set up the configuration files and you are good to go. We have a well-documented process to show you every step of the way.
If you have a series of HTML pages, you will need to pack them up as a zip file and we will deal with downloading them and preparing them for reading.
Want to know how all this is setup? Here is the complete documentation that gives you all the nitty-gritty on how to set up the template after your purchase.
Live Magazines Using this Template
We have got an amazing array of publishers who have been able to get their magazines live on the App store using this template. Here is a sample of just a few of them.
Wild Edible NoteBook
Here is what Gregg, the publisher of the magazine had to say: “In the 7 months that we’ve been live on the App Store, we’ve seen more than 10,000 downloads of the app, and more than 2000 in-app purchases. The revenue keeps growing, and our user base and mailing list are growing too.
“I just want to say that without the App Design Vault Newsstand Magazine Template, I wouldn’t have been able to get this magazine started, and certainly wouldn’t have seen any income from the Wild Edible Notebook project. Our prospect and customer list has grown ten-fold in only 7 months. Thank you Tope!”

Avoid Other Expensive Solutions That Make You Pay Monthly
Other services like Adobe cater to the GQ’s, Time Magazine’s of this world and want you to pay $300+/month for their software. Well, that’s not going to work for you as an independent publisher right?. You want an affordable way of getting your magazine live on the store? That is why we have setup this iPad Magazine Publishing Software
Make it your own with multiple designs included
At App Design Vault, we love giving you great, affordable designs for your app. Also, we want you to be able to make your Magazine unique. This is why we have bundled a set of 4 possible design themes you can use for your own magazine.
Just choose one of the styles and you are good to go. If you are brave enough to handle code, you can even tweak the designs since you have access to the source code. Here is the documentation file that shows you how to set up the template
Publish on the iPhone too
Looking at the comments below, it seems a popular request is to have a Universal app that runs on both iPhone and iPad. Well, I listened. Here you go.
The template will now let you publish your magazines on both iPhone and iPad.
Extensive Documentation and Training.. Great for DIY peeps.
You don’t need to know how to code to use this template. You can configure the template with your content within 30 minutes. And that is on the high side.
We have loads of videos on YouTube that walk you through the entire process from start to finish.
Here is a YouTube playlist with 14 videos of all the steps you need to take. You don’t need to watch all 14 (Some of the steps you probably already know how to do.)
If you prefer to read and not watch videos, we have got you covered. Here is the link to the documentation that you can follow.
Push Notifications and Background Downloading
Another most-requested-for feature was the ability to send push notifications to users. Now we have built the functionality into the template. We integrated Push Notifications using Parse.com and all you have to do is create a free account on Parse.com and let the template know about it.
When you send a push notification to your users, you can tell the app what issues are new and the app will automatically download this issue in the backgound (if the user is subscribed). Cool feature huh? I think so too..
Buy it Now
Other solutions make you pay monthly to get your app on the App store. If you stop paying, your magazine gets removed. Here you pay a one-time fee and you can publish an unlimited number of issues. The app is yours and the revenue you make from the App store is yours to keep too.
